AAF Fort Worth cordially invites the Fort Worth advertising community to join in honoring Ken Schaefer with the AAF Silver Medal Award at a reception to be held on Tuesday, March 26 at Backlot Studio from 4-6 p.m.
Established in 1959, AAF's Silver Medal Award Program recognizes men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence, and responsibility in areas of social concern. Annually, clubs across the country bestow this national AAF honor upon outstanding members of the local advertising community. The AAF Silver Medal recognizes the lifetime and ongoing contributions to the advertising profession.
Honorees are selected based on the following criteria:
- Contribution to His/Her Company: The recipient must have achieved success in one of the following areas of work: advertising agency, advertiser, media or advertising service.
- Creative Ability: The recipient must have shown a consistent high degree of original thinking in their field.
- Contributions to the General Advancement of Advertising: The recipient must have worked to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession.
- Contributions to the Community: The recipient should be someone who has been active in civic, religious, or other groups dedicated to human or social welfare.
- Service to the American Advertising Federation: The honoree should have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the local American Advertising Federation chapter. Service to the corresponding AAF District and AAF National further solidifies the depth of service.
As the President and Owner of Schaefer Advertising Co., Ken Schaefer’s deep passion for advertising has spanned his three-decade career in the industry. Started in 1995, Schaefer Advertising has grown from a small design firm to a full-service agency with 50 associates, across 7 states - all while under Ken’s leadership and direction.
In addition to running a successful advertising agency, Ken also serves as a leader in the advertising industry. He has been a long-time member of the American Advertising Federation and previously served as a consultant for the Fort Worth Advertising Association. Additionally, Ken serves the community through his involvement with local universities and higher education institutions, frequently serving as a guest lecturer for marketing, advertising and design classes. He is a founding member of the TCU Department of Design Advisory Council supporting the TCU Department of Design’s faculty and students. Through his involvement in these organizations, Ken has helped to shape the advertising industry and advance its best practices.
Throughout his long-term career, Ken has been a catalyst for growth both for Schaefer Advertising and for the greater advertising community. Ken has always had the philosophy that the relationship between
employee and employer is actually a simple one. While it would be amazing if all of Schaefer Advertising’s employees retired at Schaefer, that’s simply not pragmatic. So, with that in mind, Ken’s goal for Schaefer Advertising is to continually help his employees grow in their careers during their tenure at Schaefer. In turn, Schaefer's employees consistently help the agency grow and make it a better place.
Tickets to the AAF Silver Medal Award Reception are on sale now for $50 per attendee. Event proceeds will benefit Ken's charity of choice, Good Natured, Mayor Parker’s Greenspace Initiative.
Sponsorships are available, with two levels to choose from: Friend of Ken and Silver Sponsor. For more information, visit the event page or contact [email protected].
